Information

Melissa Photography and Design serves the Greensboro, North Carolina and surrounding triad area. Your custom portrait experience can occur either at your home or a location of your choosing within a 30 mile radius of Greensboro. I am available for travel, please inquire if interested. Your custom portrait experience will last approximately one to three hours allowing for plenty of breaks for feedings etc and time for clothing changes if desired. Sessions are very laid back and paced such that kids will have a chance to be well kids. Please bring whatever will make you and your family comfortable and be sure to schedule your session at a time that is conducive to happy subjects (eg: NOT during baby's nap time).


Cancellations

24 hour notice for cancellations is required otherwise your session fee is forfeited. If you do need to cancel please be sure to call Missy to let her know giving 24 hour notice. If proper notice is given your session fee will be applied to your rescheduled portrait session.


Consultation

This can occur on the telephone, via email or in person. At this time we will set up the date and time for your session and any questions you may have will be answered. Also please let me know of any special requests at this time so that I may plan accordingly. If you are interested in custom work please let me know at this time (ie. birth announcements, birthday invitation, collages etc)


Clothing

This is completely up to you. I suggest that you dress in whatever portrays you and your family as they are. In general though simpler is usually better as it does not draw attention away from the subject. For newborns the birthday suit or a simple onsie make for the best shots. For older kids jeans or khaki photograph well. If there are going to be group shots it is best to wear coordinating colors. In general bold patterns and clothing with logos are discouraged as they detract from the subject and can date the photograph. Ultimately the decision is yours. Please ask if you have any questions. Each session allows for clothing changes if desired.


After the Session

Approximately two to three weeks after your session you will be contacted to make your ordering appointment. At your ordering appointment you will be presented with at least 20 finished 5x7 proofs as well as a DVD slide show set to music. You may also be presented with some custom work (i.e. collages, storyboards, cards etc). If you are interested in such items please be sure to let me know during the consultation. You order will be placed at the ordering appointment. All orders recieved at the ordering session will receive any print credits that were available. Print credits as well as any other discounts expire if an order is not placed at the in person ordering appointment. Following your ordering session your proofs will be put into an online gallery to share with family and friends (as long as your order was placed during your ordering appointment). It will remain online for FIVE days ONLY. During that time period you/family/friends can make additional orders with no minimum purchase. Once the gallery expires a minimum $100.00 order is required for reprints and a $25.00 fee applies to repost your proofs to an online gallery. Ordered proofs from your session are archived for a year. All others are purged 30 days after your ordering appointment.

Payment

Melissa Photography accepts cash, checks and credit cards (via paypal). Payment of your session fee or series is expected in full within 5 days of booking your appointment. Once payment is recieved current prices are locked in until 30 days after your ordering appointment. Payment for prints is expected at the time of ordering. Photos will not be sent for printing to my lab until payment has been made. Due to the nature of the product I offer all purchases are final and non-refundable.
